Introducing Jerrys Seramas LLC

JerrysSeramasLLC is dedicated to the introduction and promotion of the Serama in North America and world wide. Be they American, Malaysian or Traditional, I seek to continously improve their beauty, quality, health and vigor and share this experience with other serama enthusiast, where ever they may be.
Introducing the Serama

The Serama is the smallest and lightest bantam chicken in the world and highly prized as living works of art. The weight of the serama range from 8 to 16 ounces for hens and from 10 to 19 ounces for cocks At Serama only competitions this weight is broken down into 4 classes, Micro, A, B and C classes.. Cocks standing upright, measured from the ground to the comb range from 8-12 inches. The Serama originated in Malaysia and is the result of selective cross breeding of several breeds (the common village bantam and the wild jungle fowl) contributing a bulk of the serama's genes. Their Chesty, regal and confident beauty is a joy to behold and they are described as the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolly Partons of the bantam kingdom.
Introducing Myself and my Serama

My name is Jerry Schexnayder, located in South Louisiana, Parish of St James, town of Vacherie, midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I own the largest pure blood , USDA Certified, NPIP #714 Approved, flock of Serama in the World. My birds were imported directly from Malaysia in 2001. My import, original flock, consisted of 135 birds, 105 hens and 30 cocks. These birds were hand selected from throughout Malaysia, to provide the greatest genetic diversity possible. I'm one who does things my way, unfortunately some want it their way and this has led to friction in serama circles. I have no ego to prove. I 'm quite happy doing my own thing at my own pace. I don't claim, like some, to have the best, although they all got their start from me, nor do I preach or force myself on anyone. I don't claim to be a specialist. If anyone asks for advice, I'll give it truthfully and to the best of my knowledge. It's up to the recipient of this advice to decide for him/herself if it's truth or crock.

I am the proud founder and member of the Serama Council of North America and the National Serama Council.
